i think the standard monthy rate in the US is $25-30/month for unlimited BB data. some providers offers limited data/email only for like $10-15/month.

    Fido: 3gb = $60; 6gb = $80 (not available for BBs)

Roger's: their ghetto site is down right now!

    Telus: 3gb = $60; 5gb =$80

    Bell: 1gb = $50

Obviously, these plans include an assortment of extra features and there are other options, but as far as straight data add-ons, this is what you're looking at in Canada. Last year, there were better data options. Telus, for instance, offered unlimited data plans. Subscribers who took advantage of those plans are definitely in better shape than new users.

For your plan, it is not 10mb per day. It is 10mb per month. You can check the globe website for more accurate information.

Oh that's even worse. Anyways, this sucks.. I wasn't aware about the blackberry plans from globe (bb newbie here).. I just signed up for a new line last sunday, its only wednesday now. Under plan 1,200 per month, I called them up asking if I can downgrade to 800 per month and add a 700 per month for the blackberry plan and they said they'll charge me a downgrade fee of 14,000.. wth?

They wont waive the downgrade fee even im actually upgrading.. from 1200 a month to 1500 a month? They really need smarter people in globe!

10mb seems a little light for monthly usage. Not sure, but I would think minimal email use would put you over 10mb a month easy. Hopefully you can find something better

You will really have to pay the downgrade penalty since the contract you signed is for 1200. They discounted the 8520 when you got it. You can read the fine prints when you signed the agreement. The 700 BIS plan is only an add on. It has no bearing on your 2 year contract with globe. As a matter of fact, you can cancel the 700 add on bis plan in as short as 3 months. This is a procedure across all telcos here in the Philippines.

We only need to be responsible with our purchases. That would have saved you this headache.

Did you sign up for bis? You posted in another thread that you got a generic data plan. I suggest you get the supersurf plan for 2k a month. It will save you more headache and will let you enjoy your phone more unless you wanna just use your phone in hotspots. Without the unlimited plan, I was vaereging 8k a month. So imagine how much I save now.
