I have the curve 8320 and i have went through (well i think) the whole memory free thing, and I only have like 19 megs free. I only have like maybe 5 apps, i delete all my messages and clear my cache..
i thought that when i had my 8700 i had like 34-40 free. the only things i have not deleted are the themes. I Only use the bottom dock type themes. i am using a 3rd part one now. there are the originals plus the t-mobile theme on there. what themes can i delete? cause i hear that 3rd party ones are dependent..
can anyone who knows how i can free more memory please let me know? i do use a media card for all my pictures, video etc....
Here are more steps to free up memory. Pay close attention to the link at the bottom it has alot of info.. My current file free is 29mb - the link helped me achieve high 20's
1. Delete all texts or unneeded texts and emails. People who save hundreds of texts will eventually have memory related issues.
2. Make sure you close all apps properly (menu>close) as well as move all media (ringtones, pictures, video etc) to a media card - if you dont have a media card its a good idea to get one to keep the pictures, ringtones off the device memory.
3. Clear your browser cache (browser>options>cache operations) as well as the event log........On your keypad hold down the alt key and type lglg and clear the event log (ignore the warning).
4. If you have too many themes or applications maybe cut down on a few you dont use. Facebook would be the first place I would go for an app that needed to be deleted.
This thread below will help you if you want to do even more memory optimization.
i had deleted docs to go, with desktop manager. but looking at the OS, i see a file that is like 769k entitled "DocsToGoCommon.cod" and "wordtogo.cod" ....shouldn't this of been deleted.
I have

I am up to 30 now.
I guess that not bad with all of those apps and it only being a curve.
Can't wait to get the niagra and see if it has more memory!!!

Ok guys...I have hardly any apps and not nearly as much as you all. Could it be a tmobile thing? I'd there a lot of crap in the os that I can get rid off.. I really want to fix this
I am running os .124. I had deleted stuff like voice dialing etc but I still see it on my phone. Should I do a os reinstall? Desktop manager tells me I should go back to .81. Why??
Do I have a defective curve,?
Does having 12mb device limit set in the media options take 12mb away from the free memory status display?
