I usually just look at the screen when I'm typing and rarely, if ever, look at the actual keyboard. There are even times when I'll just type out a reply to a message and just stare off into the distance, deep in thought, not even looking at my phone. That doesn't happen very often but sometimes I just get in a real good flow and can bang out full on messages with full correct punctuation. I can only ever do this on a physical keyboard which is one of the reasons I'm using a Q10 over my Z10.

I can on my Torch2..one of the main reasons i love physical keyboards.

I find that other touchscreen users have to really focus when there typing..thats why Im waiting for the Q10 (we downunder are so behind )

I just wanna feel the damn thing..Im waiting patiently though :P

That's nothing. Just tested out 10.4 and it types everything itself without needing any input from me.

Used 2 do this all the time on my 9930, couldn't really do it on the Z10. Now I have a Q10 and I'm sure I'll get there soon. Easier on a physical keyboard.

I could on my bold. Not so much on my z10. On my bold I would often type notes to my self at work (reminders) while walking around.

I usually just look at the screen on my Z10. If I look at the keyboard I'm amazed at the junk I'm typing that it turns into coherent sentences!

With my Z10 and when I had my Torch 9850, I go back and forth between the keyboard and the message. With my keyboard BlackBerry phones, I wouldn't need to look at the keyboard.

EDIT: Now that I realize it, I don't really look at the Z10 keyboard. I'm just that used to it

Tried it once but I'd still rather look at the keyboard just to be sure. Haha though it's nice to know that you can still be accurate while looking away.

I used to when I had the 9810 seeing as I used the physical kb more than the touchscreen but on the z10 I find I have to look more often than not

i could type looking just at the screen not the keyboard on my 9900 but then i type on my pc and laptop without ever looking at the keyboard, however on the old sure-type phones (abc, def, ghi type phones) i could type one handed with it under the table whilst still looking like a student fully engrossed in what the teacher had to say lol

i could never type without looking on a virtual keyboard as theres no physical distinction between keys, just a flat sheet of glass

it comes natural to you especially if you're used to typing with a real keyboard without lookin

Going on my 6th year using a BlackBerry I relish the fact I don't need to look at my keyboard. It's the one thing I love to brag to my iPhone friends about the benefit of sticking with my BlackBerry throughout the years.
