Since my phone was stolen, and I lost my 8gb memory card. I just bought a 16GB for my BB Torch (I bought the 8 when I got my Storm 2, 2 years ago). I was just asking myself, is it really necessary? I had around 1200 songs, plus around 1000 images (over the years, previous phones etc.), and a lot of screenshots too but they don't take up too much space anyway. I was thinking maybe I should just get an iPod, or maybe just not carry so much around with me on my memory card.

So am I the only one who has this huge amount?

I have 1775 songs on my 16GB card. That is only a small fraction of what I have on my PC hard disk.

Oh, so I'm not alone. All my friends and family think I have way too much on my phone. I have some songs that are 10MB, maybe I should convert if when I'm not feeling lazy, I hate quality loss though. I also had 2 movies, but I deleted them to free up 1 GB. Some videos not really worth having but the biggest one is only 35 MB.

I have 634, but have a lot more than that on my pc. I rarely listen to songs o anything other than my Torch, although I often play them through the car radio. I don't see the need for an Ipod or Zune. I did load a bunch onto my Playbook, but I haven't gotten into the habit of using it to play songs yet.

Varies from 100-500 songs. I have waaaayyy too many on my normal computer and would never be able to fit my entire collection on my phone.

700 mp3 songs at just under 2 gig, growing slowly, but since it's mostly 60's, 70's and 80's classic rock there is not much good that I like from the 90's on....

I have my entire collection on Google Music, it is awesome not having to worry about what to have or not have on my phone any more! If I loose or break my phone all I do is log into my Google account and everything is there!

Also have aboit 250 ringtones hiding in there. That doesn't include the native Ringtones.

I have just over 700 in my iTunes but only put less than 400 in my Torch 9800. I use the 8GB (4GB Torch + 4GB microSDHC) more for Videos.

Just over 300, but I generally rotate through a group of albums at a time from my large collection on my server at home. I do not think having loads of music or pics on a phone is unreasonable.

It is your phone, load it with music as you see fit. ;-)
