In malaysia I believe Samsung is more popular than iphone.I can't remember any of my friends who's using iphone as their second phone but I know a lot of them carry Samsung notes, notes 2 or GS3. Samsung is well known in malaysia. Lots of advertising from them.

I've been working in Malaysia for the last 6 months, on and off. Samsung is King but it looks as though BlackBerry has a good showing. Funny how many people carry 2 devices Blackberry is most always one of them.
What does this say? some people believe it to be a negative to BB as most people used to only use a BB now they use a BB and another device. I say the BB must be good if someone is going to haul around 2 devices and can't be without one. Lets hope BB10 lighten's the load on a few people .)

agree. hopefully BB10 could lighten the load to most people.
but most of us like the samsungs because of the functions and big screen. and especially the apps.
great apps in a great phone is needed to grab nak some of those leaving BB before.

I've had 9 for the past couple years, I'm up to 14, Woot! I've added 5 of my friends in the last month. Contracts are over for lots of people at this time of year some of them are coming back, picking up cheap BlackBerry's on kijiji or ebay waiting for BB10 to renew.

All real life business and personal contacts: gone from over 40 two years ago to 7 now.

However: BBM as a txt chat app is still useful so thats at least something I guess.

I'm sure in countries like indonesia, SA, mexico, nigeria this poll would look a lot different.
Zero to 5 since Feb. My first BB. I'm sure I'll be welcoming lots of my friends once BB10 is out.

I have 33 contacts now, which has been an increase.

Most of them are DJs/promoters

I like using BBM, just wish I had more friends to BBM with, but it is what it is.

I do enjoy the use of BBM those times I do use it

I did the same. Last 2 people on my list were my boss and another work colleague. BBM was just taking up space at this point.

I am down to one bbm contact... Over the years I had up to 20-30 typically but unfortunately they have all migrated to the competition. I'm in for the long haul and maybe when BB 10 is released some of my old bbm contacts will come home...
