I could have gone Android. I just went Apple. All platforms seem to be really good right now. Including BB.

They point you don't understand is that not everybody defines "capability" of a smartphone like you do. There will be people who value a hardware keyboard over screen real estate and who see a BlackBerry having 'better' capabilities for their needs than an iPhone. Generalizing "value = screen size" is just.......it makes no sense.

I think some people are splitting hairs over your choice of words.
You didn't leave for financial reasons. To me, that would mean either you couldn't afford the Curve for some reason, or that the switch to iPhone would save and/or generate money for you.
You did leave to get more bang for your buck. You did leave to get better value for your money. It's not quite the same thing.
There's no arguing that iOS, Android, and now BB10 can all do many things your legacy BBOS device couldn't.
If some of those things are important to you, and if the larger screen of an all-touchscreen form factor was desirable, and most of all if you were happy & satisfied by your decision, then you made the right decision for you.
Buy the way, fivesevensuited , maybe I should have used "bang for my buck" as the title to my thread.
I thought you said you weren't going to post anymore?????
Just because you don't like someone's opinion or perspective doesn't mean it's not relevant. Maybe if someone at bbry reads stuff like this and actually understands it, they will stop being ridiculous with their pricing.
You are probably right elite1. I should have said it was more of a bang for my buck issue.
Gos, my friend is so down the Apple rabbit hole he can't leave now as to buy all the apps he has now wether it be BB/WP/Droid it would cost him too much. Yes he could just change the phone but he I swear has A.D.D and he is always playing something on his phone.
Now I on the other hand have 14 apps and almost all of those can be found on BB and once the A30 comes out, I'm dropping my i5 for it.
Now onto your question. You will find a bit of harsh tone toward you simply because it is almost everyday someone come on CB and starts a thread title like
"BB is Dead", "Its over for BB" , "Why I think BB sucks", "I would be a phone but the platform maybe discontinued", "Why Apple/Droid is better than BB"
Then you post this topic which really doesn't add anything of substance other than stating you miss BB but because you are sandboxed to Apple you can't leave. It just seems like more stirring of the pot, OH also have you tried the Z10, you do realize that a keyboard phone is going to have a small screen so why even make that an issue.
It's all good TommesJay. It makes sense to me. We'll just agree to disagree.
Well, for the 'bang for my bucks' issue,
Here in Malaysia Z10 is priced at usd 600, Q10 usd 750, while s4 is usd 600 & note2 usd 550.
Just another strong reason for many of my friend ended up leaving blackberry.
Blackberry pricing need to be more competitive in order to recapture lost market.
Hopefully in the future they'll be a middle end, even low end bb10 devices.
Yeah I should really stop. But it's so damn hard. It's like a car accident or a talk show like Maury. You can't watch but neither can you look away......huh, maybe I should just use my phone and be happy with it and follow the news, not stupid comments and threads. YEAH. I'll try, PROMISE!

This is why BB fan base is always so ridiculed. Why is it that what I have to say has no substance. You read the title of the thread, and you could have kept moving. I simply stated I wanted a phone that matched my carrier expense (In my opinion). In the words of some other responders who suggested using better terminology, "more bang for my buck!".
Lol I personally don't see why people need to announce that they are leaving and give reasons why...Seems too apologetic to me. But well...I hope you like your phone and most importantly, your life.

I totally understand what you mean. I did the exact same thing but like few others I returned once I knew BB10 was back.
At the end of my days with BBOS I did feel like I wasn't getting enough out of my phone and was initially amazed by the iPhone. The truth is for me it never felt right. I'm happy with my decision and if you decided to return I bet it would be the same for you

I'm glad you found a phone/ecosystem you liked. One of the larger criticisms of BB is that they can't provide consumers with the same kind of multiple device connectivity that other companies (i.e. Apple and Samsung) can offer. There are lots of people who have BlackBerry phones but use Apple products (even some of the CrackBerry writers) so I'm sure a BB10 phone could still be a good fit for you down the road. If you liked the Curve, I bet you'd love the Q10. I guess I'm not sure how you use your phone and what you need it for, but I can tell you that BB10 is leaps and bounds ahead of BBOS and there are plenty of long time Apple fans who rave about the Z10 and Q10.
I'm personally hoping that BB's answer to the multiple device ecosystem criticism will be the mobile computing that we've been hearing tidbits about here and there. Miracast hardware in the Q10 and Z30 models leads to questions about how BB plans on implementing mobile computing and how we as consumers will benefit from it, but that all remains to be seen. Do you use Airplay much? Is that one of the reasons that keeps you with your iPhone?
I've been nothing but cordial in my comments, and you respond with "hope you are happy with your life". Nice.
I meant that in the most sincere manner. I m truly happy you found a phone that matches your needs. I really am hoping you do well, dude.

I do use Airplay. I too hope BB gets into a multiple device ecosystem. I just feel they are doing to many phones. IMHO one great touch screen, one great query, and maybe a slider. I feel they are stretching resources to thin.
I agree with that fully. Blackberry is also pulling staff members out, and one wonders if they have the human resources to really do as many devices a year as they typically did in the past.

Even if they wanted to abandoned the querty. Put all resources into a banging touch. You can't be all things to everybody.
Threads like this.....wow.
You are late to the bashing party.
To show how millions have left BlackBerry and millions continue to do so right now

The majority of the work I was doing on Blackberry was using "work around's" .....
...I got tired of that and determined I could actually get more work done using another device.
...You are hardly alone.
Since raino has kindly linked the appropriate thread, I believe we've given this thread a pretty fair run, so we'll call it a day.
