How to get a shortcode msg code?

I have had the blackberry for a whole year n i have never been able to short code msg nething, my husband owns a blackberry and has the ability to short code msg nething, he said he txted a code to some code n started to shorcode msg and was able to get them right away, so how do i crack this shortcode msg. I have a boost mobile unlimited everything and when i shortcode msg i get a reply saying "msg 9230, message failed. shortcode may have expired or shortcode texting may be blocked on your account msg 1051." n i have spoken to the company and nothing seems to work HELP!!!!:mad::eek:

Have you specifically asked your carrier if shortcode messaging is blocked on your line?

Is your SMS messaging working otherwise?

Actually a shortcode is number you send messages to for things like the Haitian Earthquake relief fund....its usually like 5 or six numbers instead of a phone number and then you send a text using one or two words that verify the message such as...

Send "Relief" to 41111
(not a real one, but the 41111 is a shortcode)
