I used to think that I was pretty fast until I read that there was a guy who could type 83 words per minute on his iPhone? Anyone that fast or craptacularly average like me?

I noticed that if I type fast on my S2, I make less mistakes. As to how fast, fast enough I guess. I can bang out some serious e-mails on this thing....
Before I got a BB a couple of weeks ago, one of my main complaints against a phone with a full keyboard was it would take forever for me to text. I had previously used a friend's phone with a full keyboard and it took me a couple of minutes to send a text that would have taken 20 seconds or less on my own T9 phone.
Now that I've had my BB for a couple of weeks (and because I spend so much time on it), I'm able to type much faster and more accurately than I did on my T9. I'm not sure as to how many WMP I can type, but I'd say I'm a fairly fast texter.
We came up with a script, and sat down and had people type it out in a text on their phones while timing it. Out of 9 of us that tried it, about 40 wpm was the average. I was about 55wpm.
On the computer i average around 90wpm. On the storm i'm around the 60wpm mark if i'm just typing freely. If i have to type something specific out perfectly i'm around more the 45wpm mark.
I've never really timed myself nor do I care to. If I'm typing out an e-mail I try to
make it as grammar and spelling-error free as possible.

Me too. I also spend so much time reading and re-reading what I typed, changing/adding words and whole sentences as I go, that whatever my speed was at typing it wouldn't matter.
