Good night, greetins from Venezuela. Since I haven't found any info regarding of how to enable 3G only in devices like the ones from AT&T who doesn't offer you that choice there's this trick many of you may know already but some not. BEFORE YOU KEEP READING DO NOT DO THIS UNTIL YOU'RE FULLY AWARE OF THE DANGER OF MESSING WITH THE ENGINEERING SCREEN.

    FIRST STEP
Go to BB Escreen Calc Keygen - Unlock Blackberry or download Jester to get the code and enter the "ENGINEERING SCREEN"

SECOND STEP (HAVE IN HAND PAPER AND PEN TO WRITE)

    - Open JESTER app or enter the web page.
    - Go to the main menu of your devide
    - Press ALT + Mays + H (For keyboard devices). Pres the BACK KEY + TOUCH THE LEFT AND RIGHT CORNERS 2-4 TIMES OF THE SCREEN (touch devices)
    - Check where it says "APP VERSION" por ejemplo: 7.1.0.284 (998).
    - Then check UPTIME (It's about 3 or 4 lines below "APP VERSION". Example; Uptima 1284s (write the number in a paper without the "s" at the end. In this case it would be 1284).
    - WITHOUT CLOSING THIS MENU LET'S GO BACK TO Jester or the web page, introduce each number you wrote on the paper, each one on the respective field, and select the duration of the key in the case of the jester app.
    - Click on Calculate" and you will have your EScreen code.
    It should look like this:

    - Let's go back to the help screen you open at the beggining, you must introduce the 8-digit code you generated on the app, you won't see any kind of indication that you're entering the code right so make sure you're entering it properly.
    - Once enter propedly the help menu will change into the "EScreen menu".
This is the menu you have to see:

    THIRD STEP.
With the end of not making this guide any longer, I will make the next steps with images.

    - Select 3th choice.

    - Then the 1st.

    - Continue with the only one that shows.

    - Configure the first choices so it would look like this:

Finally hit the choice that's marked with the blue indicator on the above image.

AND THAT'S IT YOUR beloved BLACKBERRY is working now on 3G ONLY. Keep in mind that if you reboot your device the configuration may be lost, in that case you must repeat some of the steps on this guide considering the time you select when created the code

Thanks will be apreciated, I took quite the time to make this available for all of you BBfanboys.

FOR A FOOT NOTE: I USE THIS CONFIGURATION BECAUSE I'M A HEAVY DATA USER. 3G ONLY MODE CAN DRAIN YOUR BATTERY A BIT FASTER THAN 2G MODE BUT FOR ME IT'S WORTH THE LITTLE SACRIFICE..... Sorry for some bad writing if found... English is my 2nd tongue.

That's pretty much what you can do for all BB 3G phones.

Only problem is that it will revert back to the original setting after a reboot, whether from a battery pull or app load the requires a restart.

So don't plan on it staying put.

Of course you're right, but when I was on os6 the menus looked different and I got lost the first time on os7.... And if you read almost at the end I include that part when you talk about loosing the config with the soft-hard reboot. I thought it could help some users here that's all
