    a couple of days ago i installed os 5 on my 8900 curve. now i want to change back to os 4.6 because i dont like the sms function and some other points too. any help on how i can do this?????? thanks

    Make sure you back up all your data.

    uninstall 5.0 from your computer, and install the version of 4.6 that you wish to have on your 8900.

    download BBSAK (BlackBerry Swiss Army Knife)

    wipe the device, and then run loader.exe to re install 4.6

    then restore your data from DM

    Just one small point. Wiping the phone is not really necessary. The installation will
    do that as a matter of course.

    That procedure works for upgrading/downgrading from any OS to any OS (as long as that OS is for your model device i.e. the 8900) regardless of carrier, just if you choose a file from a carrier other than the one you're on, delete the "vendor.xml" file.

    Of course you must have a PC for this or possibly a Mac with a Windows emulator but I'm not familiar enough with a Mac to be able to recommend it as an option...
