Okay so I was looking at vzw bb upgrade site and saw that they have as the lastest release on 10/31 4.5 patch 202

I looked at my phone and I see that I have 4.5.0.77

I then look at the "help" on the site and see that it says 4.5.0.101 released

I take it what I have is not the lastest and greatest?

What does each section of numbers mean for the os release?

    Thanks!

The numbers stand for different OS updates made. There are plenty of Pre-Release or Beta OS's that come out but they are not official with your provider. You can check RIM's site and see which is the most up to date OS for your phone. I have a 8330 also but mines on sprint and im still waiting for sprint to release an official 4.5. Hopefully this month they will finally come through with there word.

.101 is the Package Version. .77 is the actual OS and the only
number you really need to pay attention to

    Package Version: 4.5.0.101

    Consisting of:

    Applications: 4.5.0.77
    Software Platform: 3.2.0.51

This is the newest OS for the 8330:
