I'm using TeleNav witht he 8310. Everything seems to be working fine, except for the fact that I'm not sure how to turn it off.

If I hit the red button, it takes me back to the menu, but the "girl" keep talking to me in the background! If I hit the "bacl arrow" button, it asks me if I want to end the current session. That's how I'v been shutting it off.

Am I doing it right? I just want to make sue I don't leave the GPS session running int he back eating up the battery!

I don't use that app, but I'd try hitting the menu button and scrolling down to close or exit.

Yes. Just close the application you're using and that will shut GPS down.

In order to shut down TeleNav you need to use the Escape key (right side of trackball.) It will prompt on each escape. Just escape out until it takes you back to the homescreen.
