    I took some pics and wan't to save them on my laptop as TIFFs because of their appearance reliability. I get a message telling me that I need to make a folder for save as which is not known to me.

    You didn't mention what you took your pictures with. Are you getting the message on your camera or on your laptop? What software is giving you that message?

    Do you just want to convert jpegs to tiffs on your laptop?
