I have a question as to how to delete the Text option in your contacts listing. When entering data such as Home phone # it creates the option to text this #. With land lines this is not possible so us there a way to edit out this function? A total waste of space.

Yes, this is annoying little quirk of the Contacts app. There's no way to get rid of it right now. We're hoping to see this addressed in an upcoming release. Only a mobile entry should be carried over as a "textable" number.

I don't know what carrier you have, but we can actually pay for a service that allows us to SMS landline numbers.

Canadian carrier Rogers....no Sms to landlines that I'm aware of and not exactly sure how a landline would retrieve these msgs.

Your message is forwarded to an automated service that calls the landlines and speaks the message on to their answering machine.

I'm assuming Rogers not onto this or I don't pay for service as I've made error and sms'd the landlines number only to have msg appear that msg undeliverable but thanks for info all very informative

The way it works here is that the automated service calls your landline no and then speaks the message to you when you pick up the receiver

Really wish customization was allowed within contact info. Perhaps in next OS update. BlackBerry still rules!
