I tried the following on my Sprint 8330 (OS 4.5.0.131) to no avail:
    Profiles > Advanced > Normal profile >
this is where I would expect to see Voicemail as an option, then I could hit the BB menu key > Edit, and change the alert tone.

But there is no Voicemail option.

    I tried changing
    Level 1 Messages,
    Messenger - Alert, and
    Messenger - New Message,
but none of these changed the voicemail alert tone to the desired Notifier_Nymph alert tone

Anyone know how to change the voicemail alert tone?

here is a work around to disable the VM alert tone. i haven't tried it because i don't have the need...

i assume you can also enter your own number in your address book and then set notification for that number using these instructions:http://forums.crackberry.com/f3/how-...contact-48275/

good luck! post back with your results!

Those options are for BBM only. Look at the link Chrisy posted, you'll find what you need.

Apparently for some RIM devices the Voicemail alert = the SMS alert

    This seems a bit archaic

Are there any third party programs that allow users to set an alert tone for voicemails that is different from the SMS alert tone?

(then I could use the link Chrisy posted to turn off the SMS notification for voicemail messages)

Thank you Victor821, I was having the same problem (had a brain cramp & couldn't remember how I did this in the past). So simple yet so hard to find!!!
    Thanks again.
