Please advise me how to change font on my Z30

You can't.

You can't sadly. Idk why BlackBerry locked it

Probably because the BB10 team didn't know BBOS could do it.

Sounds like a lame excuse. More like they just don't think it's needed. Which is also bad. It's been over a year if they planned on giving us it they would have already

Yes, I agree, quite lame. I didn't expect this to happen because of BBOS. Hopefully they will add this in the future.
If I had to guess, I'd say it's because font files tend to be large, and they want to save space in device memory. With the Android runtime, BB10 is already large, and I suspect they are trying very hard not to let it get so bloated that it will require even more RAM to run. Every feature that we might like to see potentially involves enlarging the OS, so they are likely to focus on more mission-critical features first.
I remember when we were all busily "shrinking" legacy OS. The first things to go were the font files. In terms of current storage standards, the 10 or so MB we liberated is a trivial amount, but I still think the engineers at BlackBerry have been struggling from the start to keep BB10 from eating New York.
BB10 is great platform, and has a lot more thatn OS7, but sadly we miss some features were there

Completely agree with ubizmo, how much ever I would love to experiment with fonts I think memory and free space is everything

To be honest- we do need this feature. I sometime use the Android FB app (let me not start with the native FB app) and I love the fonts on that (maybe because it is different from the native font that we have on BB10). Like someone mentioned in the previous post- it is a large file, but like BB7 we should have the ability to remove fonts (just like language) on BB10. Give the BB-users options!
To be fair as someone as said, it also involves enlarging the files of the os

And as I think about it some more, there could be a way to change fonts using Link, not leaving the unused ones sitting in device memory taking up space.
Give me a fecking break? BB10 has plenty memory, that's not an excuse in any way.

I don't think it's about "plenty of memory" but I think it's more about as they develop the os they'll add more to it. But phones like z3 only sport 1.5 gb

An excuse? Is there an accusation being made?
BB10 has plenty of memory but if you look at all the threads about sought-for enhancements, they could add up quickly. BB10 was pretty sparse on features when it was released, but it was still quite large. I'm just suggesting that some features that could potentially eat up a lot more memory were left out for that reason, and fonts could fall into that category.
So the solution is to not have further enhancements? Really?
Do we know for sure the font files would be stored in the ram anyway?

Maybe in the future a font app can be available
That way we can choose to bloat out our devices if we want.

Umm if it didn't come with the os, and you tried to install it, you'd have to use ram anyways

I love the stock BB10 font...but hey, choice is always good!!

I doubt they'd be stored in RAM. More likely, they'd be stored in Device Memory, i.e., onboard flash memory.
As for the "solution" being to not have further enhancements...really? Is that what you got out of what I said? I simply offered a possible explanation of why we don't have multiple fonts available, nothing more. It's sheer conjecture on my part. You don't agree, that's fine. You may well be right. I'm just putting together various clues. One is that BB10 turned out to be larger than expected, since it was expected to run on the 1 GB (RAM) of the PlayBook. Apart from RAM, the OS takes up quite a lot of Device Memory, especially with the Android runtime baked in, and the need for space to store countless Android data files. Right now, Device/misc/android on my Q10 is 6 GB. So it's at least possible that the reason why additional fonts were left out was because there are a lot of other things that have to be taken care of first, to bring BB10 up to speed, and these will also increase the size of the OS.
It's not an argument against further enhancements.
Sure, there are other possibilities. Maybe they just forgot about the fonts.
I doubt that anyone made a conscious decision to only have one font.
Myself, I suspect that it simply didn't occur to the Devs that anyone might not be OK with their font choice, and that (as with so much else) their limited knowledge of legacy BB meant that they didn't realise they were omitting a feature people used.
So, a combination of arrogance and ignorance. ;)
Very possibly true, but consider this. If these Devs weren't familiar with legacy BBOS, they must have been using some other platform. Android, however, lets the user choose fonts. I don't know about iOS. But I'm skeptical of the idea that changeable fonts wouldn't have occurred to them.
I'm still inclined to think they skipped it for a reason, and my guess is they were given a "ceiling" size for BB10, so they put a lot of things on ice.

There is a font app on BlackBerry World. Not perfect but it works,i believe it was deliberately left out to allow apps developers to create an app for that, I however think that BlackBerry should have made it stock and if file size was or I'd a concern they could have allowed filtering as they allow languages.

If it was deliberately omitted, I very much doubt it was for reasons of memory footprint or to allow an independent Dev to make a few bucks.
Rather more likely is that it was omitted because the Devs ran out of time and needed to finalise 10.0 to meet Thor's Q1 commitment to release the Z10.
After all, there were many things omitted from 10.0 that returned in 10.2.1.
Not taking anything away from your post, but I'm struck by the irony of BB possibly omitting a core OS feature so that an independent Dev can claim that "there's an App for that!"TM ;)
