who's your provider? is it cable or adsl? 99.9% its dns issue by the provider. Try switching to opendns or google.

Sometimes (rarely) if I have wifi connection issues, I unplug my router for a few minutes then reconnect.

Having the same issue. Constantly getting a limited connection warning after 5-10 mins. I thought it may have been the phone as I am using a replacement as the first one didn't suffer the issue.

Set your router's DNS to Comodo Secure DNS or - eek - even Google DNS...

    Comodo Secure DNS8.26.56.26 * * * * 8.20.247.20
    DNS Advantage156.154.70.1 * * * * 156.154.71.1
    Google Public DNS8.8.8.8 * * * 8.8.4.4 * * * *2001:4860:4860::8888 2001:4860:4860::8844*
    Norton DNS198.153.192.1 * * 198.153.194.1
    OpenDNS208.67.222.222 * * *208.67.220.220

That should fix it, if it's a DNS issue. Lots of ISP DNS servers are not reliable enough, imho... :-)

Maybe BlackBerry should run their own DNS for our phones, so we'd never experience any issues (unless theirs goes down, of course, lol)...

BB DNS built in, but that could be disabled... ? Maybe part of the enterprise offerings to increase reliability...? :-)

    Still not clear on this.
Are you saying WiFi is being kicked in the head because the phone can't resolve an FQDN so that it can phone home?
Why are some provider DNS servers failing to resolve this name?

There was a known wifi band issue. Try going into settings>wifi>long press the name of your home wifi. There will be a dual band setting, turn it to either 2.4 or the other 5 option (depending upon your modem) and restart.

To save 'bandwidth' they cache their dns I guess? I have personally no idea how each ISP is set up, but mine's pretty notorious for it. So I am sticking to third party.

Everyone caches DNS, its a distributed system.
    What name is being resolved?

I would like to know the exact nature of this flaw.
Since the vast majority are using bind.
Does this flaw only manifest with BB10 clients?

mostly yes, bb10 or bb related things like blend and bbm on other platform. I am not a specialist on their system so not sure but it is a known issue locally here.

Pulling the phone cord (or coaxial cable) from the router/modem for about 20 seconds (or until the sync/dial LED starts blinking) is enough to fix things for me. That and clearing the MAC list/filter and DHCP.

Can you narrow that down to one action?
It would help me to find out exactly what is going on.

Those sections depend on the DSL or Cable modem you're using. Bell (or similar) uses the F@st models, some are different. At the bottom, there's a phone cord plug, pulling that is the first thing you should do in the case of no Internet access. But if you have a cable modem, you'll have to unscrew the cable, give it about a minute, then screw it back in.

Now if you still can't gain access, make sure you access the modem's setup utility (Default Gateway/Route/address in BlackBerry 10/7.1 settings) by entering the 192.168.x.x. address, enter any username or password if prompted (refer to manual or what bell/your ISP told you), and locate the DCHP and Mac address filtering sections. Clear them, there should be options to flush/clear DCHP, in mac address filtering, you should be able to manually select devices to remove from the list.

Sorry about not being so easy to understand, as each interface varies between manufacturers, firmware, etc.
