Okay well I just posted a question asking how to do such a thing and I got an answer saying to call my service provider. I did that and they told me how to block the actual number. The info that they gave me was send a text to 8888 with B then the 10 digit phone number that you wish to block. I don't know if this is alltel specific I forgot to ask but it may be worth putting in a seperate thread since I couldn't find in a search. So as an example I did text to 8888 B 5705553228....yes i used the real number cause they are a (fill in the blank) and I dont care about their privacy since they obviously didn't about mine. They said they are at a camp or something just joking around but maybe its a lesson learned that sometimes people don't take things as funny

Well, ya did a good job of not being nice. hehe...

Changing your number might be GENERALLY hassle free for you... But, I'll assume you have very few friends to worry about not getting your number back to, haha...

Looks like someone did text him. Blocking info is good info - I might have a person I'd like to block.

Guys, just ignore this dude. He's just a troll.
Anyhow, to the OP. Thanks for the useful info. I wouldn't want to change my number either. Do you know how long it would take to distribute my new number to family, friends, coworkers, clients, etc..... Definitely not an option for me!
