I absolutely cannot wait for the BB10 phones to come out. I held off upgrading to the 9900 from my 9800 because the improvements of the OS7 phones were so incremental. That said, my Torch is on its last legs. It's reliable but I literally have scotch tape holding down the button panel. I attached a pic of my poor phone. it's dinged, scratched to ****. Anyone else in dire need of an upgrade? It'd be great to see your trusted but worn out phones.

Well I was going to keep my 9780 until BlackBerry 10, but the screen died on me (for the second time, first time was under warranty) last summer and I was being quoted some pretty ridiculous repair prices. So I tried to replace it with a used 9810... which turned out to be hardlocked to a different carrier. Long story short, I ended up upgrading to a brand-new 9810 out of desperation. With hindsight, quite a bad idea, but luckily I've devised a workaround to make the jump to BlackBerry 10 cheap for me (Upgrading my mom instead of me due to her low device balance, then swapping phones). If only I hadn't dropped my 9780 so many times, maybe it would have survived to the year of BB10!

My 9810's also showing some wear at this point (after just 6 months - I really am a CrackBerry Abuser!), mainly visual. But the most annoying is the microUSB port - for the past few days, it has taken some very specific alignment of the cable to get it charging, and knocking the cable out is extremely easy. Since it's still under warranty, I'll probably have it sent in to be fixed before handing it over to my mother, but for the time being it's not too big an issue, as the charging dock still works just fine with it.

I'm in the same boat... My trusty-rusty 9800 is looking kinda ratty, but works fine and no scotch tape. I love some of the dings and scrapes, some of these war wounds came from my dropping it while on the Great Wall of China 2 years ago, so this damage has sentimental value. Far worse than that, I had to beat back a company-issued iPhone last fall. Had to use it for 3 months while the higher ups figured out that it couldn't increase the bottom line, and expand the company into new frontiers as originally thought. All the while I kept said faithful BB on personal account - had over 600 contacts and others stuff in it and steadfastly refused to give it up. Thankfully someone else in the company needed new phone and I was able to pass on the fruit-thing. Back to the future with Torch brightly lit for BB10. I'll have an early model of the L-series. And yes, I recently increased my RIM holding... Let's rock and roll this!!

So I feel better now. I'm not the only one holding on to my 9800. Lol...she's a beater, but she's trying to hold on.
*edit...I tried using a couple of cases on my 9800, but I kept running into the same problem of the top snap on cover always loosing the tabs that held it on. I gave up and just let it take a beating and hoped for the best. I'm counting on the new BB10 phones to have well made, durable cases upon launch. I plan on purchasing a case for it at the same time I get the phone.

Update...so I pull my phone out of my jacket and one side is missing. I'm like FTW! So I find the piece still in my pocket and try to super glue it back on. It works for a week or so till I go to make a phone call and see now both sides are missing. All I can say is really?!?! But you know what, she still works just fine. It's just a title tricky using the buttons. Come on BB10!

My black 9800 is approaching 2 years. Replaced a cracked screen from a white phone so now its got a zebra look. Work and play have scarred it, but still runs circles around my colleagues toys in the business environment.

That little phone has been through a lot...just short of falling in the water with me. I've tried the holsters too. The phones either pop off the clip on holsters and hit the ground or the entire holster falls off. I can't afford for that to happen. In high grass or near water, it would be lost completely so it usually stays in a zipped pocket and along for the ride or thrown on the console.

My 9900 is in pretty good shape. There's some small scratches on the metal band and a few dings around the corners but that is to expected after a year with no case. The best thing about the wear and tear on my phone is that the Rogers logo has rubbed off.

I have two 9930's (wife has one) -- both are near flawless except for minor scuffs on the battery door edges. I also have a 9850 which I am currently using which is also near flawless. The one "issue" on the 9850 is the paint tends to chip off on the raised buttons along the bottom, around the edges.

I have absolutely no screen scratches and I do NOT use screen protectors.

My Curve 9360 is in pretty good shape as I have kept it in a plastic case or in a holster for pretty much all of the time I have owned it (Have had it for about 11 months.). There are some scratches on the battery cover and that's really about it.

My 9930 is in really good shape. I take pride in my phones and I take care of them with keeping themin a holster when moving (always screen facing in). If I don't rock the holster, I have it protected with a hard shell or soft shell cover/case. I also wipe the screen with the screen cloth often.

I treat my Berry with lots of love.

I have a scratch that's under a cm long on the back of my 9900 that pains me to look at. It's been in and out of a BB oem hard shell for a couple of months without a screen protector. No scratches on the screen either so I'm good for BB10's release.

    My 9000 hasn't a blemish as it's new.

Lol. The Torch cases were such junk. I even splurged on the Otterbox case (twice even) and each time, I'd drop it and there goes the front panel. After that, getting a case was a lost cause. Luckily Blackberry makes phones that can take a beating.

My old 9800 has been through the ringer. The front button panel is missing; a bunch of nicks and scrapes around the bezel; and the battery door no longer closes due to an enlarged battery.

I have been rocking a Bold 9000 since 2009 February.
I have gone through at least four bezels, numerous trackballs, a number of keyboards, a couple battery doors, four batteries, two or three midboards, one main speaker.
I have made my 9000 last, its just that awesome.
    Can't wait for BB10.

I have a few scratches here and there on the silver trim of my 9900 and some scratch marks on the screen protector, but that is about it. Rarely I drop my phone but never on purpose.
