What if this partnership with Amazon meant more, a whole lot more.

What if like Nokia who offers phones running Windows and phones running Android, this partnership between BlackBerry and Amazon meant an option of Fire Phone Running Android or BB10?

    Comments, thoughts?

I would love to see an Amazon tablet with Miracast allowing to run your BB10 OS on it (mirroring your phone activity).
Cheap solution and great opportunity to promote Blackberry OS.

Why? More phones running it would mean more exposure and more apps

It could be a future possibility. At the moment, BB10 does not have enough traction. I think 10.3 and Blend over the next year might springboard it to the level where Chen could license it out.

It would. At one time there were rumours Sony might be a potential partner using BB10, but never more than just occasional rumours.

Here's what I think. Many BlackBerry fans cursed at BBM going cross-platform and yet here is BBM with all its quirks and bugs doing well. Or at least much better than when it was exclusive to BlackBerry. I actually have friends on BBM again. And none but two are actually BlackBerry users. The BlackBerry logo is on all those android's, iPhones and Windows Phones of people using BBM. Like someone mentioned before, exposure!

Now maybe, maybe not there is an opportunity for BlackBerry to market there os, how? By giving people the opportunity to run it on a different phone. Why not? 10.3 is coming out and this is a perfect time to put it out there for people to test drive. Just my opinion.

I really hope it happens. I don't see what Amazon has to lose. License out the OS to them and let Amazon take over the ecosystem on BB10. Amazon no longer has to keep up on developing a OS on their own. I think this would be a team that could potentially challenge IOS and Android

Not a bad idea. Will have to see how things work out with the Amazon/Blackberry relationship.

I'm sure both sides have thought about it from their own points of view. It'll happen if it makes sense to both.

Maybe once they get the Android player flawless and if BlackBerry could write a Fire Like UI for Amazon. Amazon's first priority with their devices is selling their products and services.

    Maybe not anymore.
With the very large government contracts they landed providing cloud services and analysis (very similar to the analysis project ion hopes to provide) they no doubt have had a conversation or two about going further into the field.
There is more possible synchronization between the two companies than what appears at first glance.

Hey guys I'm not saying goodbye to BlackBerry handsets, just saying that it doesn't hurt to market your os by allowing another handset manufacturer to use it as its platform. You make money and you market your product.

This is an interesting idea and could be a cost effective way for BlackBerry to produce an all-touch flagship phone (Fire Phone + BB10) in the near-term.

If amazon doesn't recognize blackberry they wouldn't have a partnership. Amazon pushes their services even at a detriment via hardware losses

They would be silly to pass up offering even more services to existing hardware.

There partnership consists of 'can I pre-install your app on my phones' . There has been just one Amazon announcement post of BB joining Amazon and thats it. THATS IT! Shamefull really.

It;s much too close to Passport launch for anything to be done cooperatively. Amazon has left it all to BB to make their apps work via 10.3 . BB has done alot to make up the compatibility gap but its not because Amazon devs know or plan on doing anything about it.

That being said I have a stl100-1 and Netflix still doesnt work on 10.3 with the updated runtime. It must be a TI driver support issue.

But other than tech issues Like that everything feels native
