I have had my blackberry for almost a year. For some reason, every few seconds the hourglass blinks. It is completely draining my battery within about 5 hours.

I have 2.7 megabytes free of the total 8.3 megabytes.

I notice a new application on my desktop called Blackberry App World. Could this be doing it?

there is a possibility that your battery has become warn out...

if you arent running blackberry app world then it wouldn't cause it.

You could try a device wipe and see if it cleans up the issue but make sure you do a full backup of everything first including your applications (which is a process)

Seems like low file free memory.
    2.7 mb seems too low.

What about the usual battery pull?

And also, I've found App World to not be the best app when it comes to hogging up memory. It's possible it's the cause of your issues. When I had it on my Storm, I was having to do a battery pull at least once daily.

Being on wap I cant see what device you're using but yes 2.7 is way too low. Even my Pearl running 4.5 had 20k free. Check 3rd party apps. Make sure all your apps are closed properly. And make sure you're saving your music, pics, etc to a memory card and not your device.
