    Well, well...

Not too long ago I created a Hotmail account. I've now connected that said account to BIS, and it works without me having to have a Hotmail Plus account...

So, for all you Hotmail lovers (not me), get adding...

PS: now testing the delivery time. Thus far not as quick as GMail or Yahoo...

Weird! It let me add the account to my BIS, with no error messages, BUT, it will not deliver emails to my Hotmail account...

    Hmm...

Edit: False alarm, it works, too about 3 minutes. One of the test emails I did was in the spam folder!!!

It did add the account, and the hotmail icon - but no deliveries yet, 30 minutes after test email was sent. (and I did resend service books to be sure)

Well, if I send an email from my BlackBerry, using my Hotmail account, it gets delivered.

But, incoming emails seem to take a while. Plus, if I go to the 'sent items' folder for my Hotmail account, I see the sent emails, too...

Need to make sure your hotmail junk mail settings are what you want them to be. I sent ringtones from here to my hotmail account and they never come to my blackberry. But, when I checked my computer, the ringtone emails were in my junk mail folder. Otherwise, it works fine.

I'm not gonna keep worrying about - only use Hotmail for a couple things anyway. Gmail is my primary, and that still works great.

    The trick is this...

Download and install Windows Live Mail client. Add your Hotmail account, then go to Options \ Advaned \ Maintainence and check the boxes for POP \ IMAP and HTML. After doing this, you can add your Hotmail account to BIS...

Well crud. My internet access is either through my berry or through work. Work is a gov't agency, so they don't yell "woo hoo" at the prospect of me installing anything. Curses. Foiled again!!!

Will I have to config it (POP3, SSL, ports etc)

Or will it sort its self out with just the email and password.
