Did you get the 9981 from max600 on eBay? Or a set with the original box and accessories?

The 9981 came from a long time employee at BlackBerry in Waterloo who now works for BlackBerry Mobile. It came along with the Z30 for Sprint that was never released.

Finally the order from Bud arrived:

I order the Frisbee and stuff on the top rows. As USPS failed to take up the post, Bud resent with some extra. It's a two months delay but he made up for it with 2 pens, a screen cleaning cloth, a blackberry spark screen cleaner, an arm ban, a USB stick, and two post-it note packages. Of course I was not happy that the order arrived late but I know it was not his fault. He said he would send some gift but I did not expect this many.

I hate you soooo much!!!! $150 for a 9981???? That's practically free! I need to start hanging out in the KW more and sniffing out all the former RIM employees!

The 9981, along with the super rare 8980 make up my holy grail of BBs!

Been awhile since I checked out this thread and your collection is out of control amazing, @Carjackd!

Thanks for the tip. Heading there right away but competition has already started, lol.

    BTW, for your collection:
    - 8350 would be nice, shaped slightly different to the 8300 series phone. Should be easy to find on eBay.
    - 8700 series came with different designs for different network, and there were 8707s as well.
    - 6700 and 7700 series
    - 6280 and 7280. You have already the 6210 and 7230 but the 80 are a bit different, externally it is a rounded button for screen backlight (lower right of the keyboard)
    - 8520 curve. I think it was the first Blackberry with trackpad. There are quite a few on eBay.
    - 9650. It is a 9630 but with a trackpad.
    - 9620: A model for Mexican market and very unique design.
    - 9360 series and 9860 series.
    - 9790
    - 9720

Then a couple of specific models such as
    - 8980: A Chinese version with 9700 form but 8900 keyboard.
    - 9788: Chinese 9780 model but with a honeycomb patterned plastic battery door, no leather.

There are also the preproduction/developer phones of some models which never were released such as Kopi and Z5 Cappuccino.

Try also the speaker models, including VM605 visor-mount and the later model seatbelt Bluetooth speaker.
Always adding, I'll keep an eye out !

    Nice one.
BTW, thank you for the tip on that AOL communicator, the previous one. I won the bid for that and now it is en route to Singapore.

It definitely was. I wanted to get the later one as well but pulled the trigger on a 9981 and blew off the budget for Blackberry for now, lol.
