An honest question... Go backward to go forward?
I'm a very loyal BlackBerry user for almost a decade; still using my 9800 slider as my main phone.
After waiting a very long time for a BB10 device to upgrade to, I'm mystified at how bizarre the outcomes are in the Z10 and the Q10. Given that most BlackBerry holdouts like myself are rather traditional people who like keyboards for example, the functionality of the Z10 and the Q10 seem strangely out of step with what was really needed to satisfy their core customers. We waited a VERY long time for a device that doesn't even have a home button or track pad, and requires a screen gesture just to answer the damn phone... Weird. Anyway, I feel bad for BlackBerry because I think they squandered their huge market share on a disconnected strategy, but the market will ultimately decide that.
My ultimate question is this: While I'm waiting for something better to come along, is the difference in chip speed alone worth migrating from the 9800 to the 9810 in the mean time? At least the 9810 has a 1.2 GHz processor compared with the 9800, which is a little more than half of that. The only thing I'm missing is true LTE, but I'm using this more for the phone and the keyboard anyway.
I would be going backwards to go forward, but it's the only option that get's me a faster phone, while keeping some of the legacy functionality I have come to rely on: a keyboard, and a few familiar buttons to navigate with.
So what do you all think? I could use a bit of advice...... Thanks.
