I have two identical 9930 traveling abroad...

BB#1 has a Verizon SIM with unlimited data plan

BB$2 has just a local SIM card

sometimes I would like to transfer text (about 200+ characters) from BB#1 to BB#2

one way is to send a SMS text message but that is VERY expensive ($0.50 per message to send...) so there must be some other ways...

    can we list them here

I am thinking somehow connecting BB#1 and BB#2 via Bluetooth - and having a chat application going?

or sending a text.txt file via bluetooth from BB#1 to BB#2

    please advise...

    thank you...

BBM? If not, there's lots of apps like WhatsUp that will do this.
    Email might work too

I'm wondering if you can do this with NFC? And wouldn't it be easier to just swap sims or do you need 2 bb's active at the same time? Or is it the security of having a backup bb already idling in the garage? Haha!

mate point is that BB#2 doesn't have internet on it
so no BBM no email nothing but voice and SMS

but could use bluetooth or so...

Copy the text and save it in a document on the memory card, stick the card in the other phone, save the document to device memory.

You could also bluetooth that file to the other device.
