Please help! I have read the wifi thread and it does not address my concern. My phone recognizes the network and I have a gray wifi icon but I am not ablw to access the wifi to surf. Please advise.

Hi, could you please advise how you resolved this? I have the same problem with my Curve 8520. It does recognize the wireless network but it does not completely connect to it unless my data service is turned on. Is this inherent to the model? Will this ever be fixed by a firmware update maybe?
