Hi Guys

Only got a gmail account and blackberry 8100 pearl this week so a newbie

I downloaded the g mail application and calendar sync but when I try and run them the gmail just hangs whilst loading and the synce says network error.

I have seen other people with similar problem but not seen the solution?

Any ideas please?

Do you have a BB data plan?

It says data services is on?

I am receiving emails no problem normally.

It is just these applications

Set the APN vodafone settings

Deleted and downloaded the googlemail application but it still just hangs when trying to load it?

Do you have any other third party apps that can successfully connect to the internet?

No other applications that connect

The browser is working fine...

Okay, here are my thoughts. First, perhaps you don't have the correct APN information entered. In that case I would suggest you call vodafone and ask for the correct settings.

Second, if that is not the issue, then I suspect you only have a regular data plan, and not a BlackBerry data plan. A regular data plan may work for browsing web sites, but will not allow any third party apps to connect. You would need to add a BB data plan to your service in this case.
