hey everyone -

got the 8320, and having trouble setting SMS tones. As of right now, the bb has no alert system, vibration or tone, for when I receive a new SMS. I have tried profiles > advanced > (pick a profile) > edit. I can change my ringtones just fine, but when I trackball SMS, nothing happens. Literally nothing. and this seems to happen to every other option besides phone on all the profiles. Tried a battery pull, but nothings changed. I have a tone ready for messages, but just can't figure out how to select it for my SMS.

When you're done selecting the tone, are you simply going back to the home screen, or are you going back up a menu and hitting "Save" on the prompt?

when I select the ringtones through the "phone" option, I am saving, and being brought back to the edit profile screen. However, when I choose SMS text, nothing is happening. no screen, nothing.

I'm having similar troubles. I think it might be because of one of the themes that I downloaded.
