Check but I think data just became mandatory for at&t on BB's. I love my 8900 and if you can get it without a data plan, Wi-Fi is great to have.

You would definitely have to check if data plans are required with BBs. Though, since you do list a Bold as a choice - I love mine, but the Bold II is somewhere around the corner for a release. Eliminate the older models, imo

yeah, it's lists a required $30 data package on the at&t website. In that case, you'd keep your current plan and just add on the data package

If you're not going to get a data connection, don't bother with a BB. If you are, go with the 8900!

I agree...if you don't have data, there are many other options out there besides a blackberry. However, I will ALWAYS recommend an 8900

Dude you're only 15, why won't you get an iphone? Your friends will think you're cool!

Sounds to me like your best approach is to visit a store and go through all the different models and discuss what will happen to you contract when you renew.

Get all the information you can and make an informed decision.

nope, i didn't need to add data. i just went to the store and got 2 new bolds. 1 for me 1 for sister. i could've kept everything the same, however i did do something sneakily. i got the 10$ a month data service that u get with the reg. phones and it works perfectly fine with my blackberry. cheap data ^^).

was gonna get 8900 but its 2g and cant watch videos so i went with the 3g bold.

to noized77 I've been thinking about the iPhone for a long time but instead im getting the touch from my cousin as a b-day present. so getting an iPhone would be redundant.

only thing bad about the bold is there's no wi-fi for it "/
