I can't decide at all between the 9810, and 9900. The prices don't matter to me but I just want a strong, easy to type with , good camera with auto focus.. Or should I just go with the iPhone ..

Boo with the iPhone although it is good. I don't think 9900 nor 9810 have af. Maybe I'm wrong. What do you like? A big screen or a small screen? A sliding keyboard or a full keyboard? Its personal preference

    Let's not be to sure...........

Outages aren't ok but they aren't preventable. It is tech anyway. To answer the OP. The phones are both good its down to personal preference now.

Go for the 9900, I was thinking about getting the 9810 as well but a slide phone isn't for me, the 9900 is great.

You should definitely play around with both in the store and compare the specs for yourself. Personally, I had a bad experience with the 9800 and wouldn't go for a 9810. The dual keyboard was a fail for me. I like the idea of a full QWERTY keyboard or full touch screen (ala 9850/60) But check it out for yourself before you decide.

Yeah, and a superb keyboard. Really helpful. Did you actually read the OP, or are there not enough other threads ripping on RIM for you add another pointless rant in?

OP, having had the same dilemma, I went with the 9810. As someone already noted, it does have an auto-focus camera. It's got a physical keyboard when you need to message which, while not quite as spacious as the 9900's, is still a very good keyboard. And it has the larger display that I know I'd miss if I had gone with the 9900. The 9810 really is a pretty slick phone.

But the camera is better on the 9810, if you want auto focus, the system which the bold uses whilst good will not give as good results in low light.

When I tried the bold I found it to be too wide for me and I liked the bigger touch screen of the 9810 because more info is seen like in contacts/ calender browsing is better in my opinion on the 9810 but they are both great phones.

I have sausages for fingers the keyboard is fine for me, but then I come from a full touch phone with very iffy virtual keyboard (Htc HD2).

18to7fiddy we seem to be saying same thing, great minds and all that

I'm up for upgrade in a few days and I'm also considering both the 9900 and the 9810.
Both phones have things I want. I love the quality of the 9900 and it looks more solid than the 9900. I am upgrading from a 8520 so the smaller keyboard on the 9810 wouldn't bother me. I like the idea of the addition of the virtual keyboard on the 9810 for when silent messaging might be handy. But I am worried about the sliding mechanism weakening with time!

I know I'll be happy with either! was tempted with a motorola atrix as I could get one for 18.60 a month with no up front charge but I've read they go wrong often!

If you like the original Blackberry QWERTY keyboard full design the Bold 9900 is the best device now.

9900 keyboard is really what make me change my bold 9000. It's even more convenient and fast. I also noticed a better reception (was often out of 3G @ my office) and a perfect Bridge behavior. Yet, I'm not that fan of touchscreen, but I have to experience it more before having a real opinion on this.

    But this is a one-sided response !

I made the jump into the 9810 from the 9700. Like you I was torn between the 9810 and the 9900. The 9900 was a cool piece but the 9810 won me over because of the bigger screen.

I miss but do not regret the following: having a cool looking phone like the 9900. The 9810 feels like a Nokia but does not act like one. It is fast. Also, the bigger screen now allows me to surf some sites I could not possibly see under the 9700. The 9900 screen however is between the sizes of the 9810 and the 9700.

I do regret the following though, the 9810 has some lag and is not as smooth as an iPhone or droid. So sometimes I get the stupid spinning clock.

The other regret, the battery life on the 9810 is about 1/2 that of the 9700. I dont know about the 9900 but I would presume it would be between the 9700 and the 9810.

With the 9810 I find I use the playbook less but I run out of juice real quick. With the old 9700 and PB combo, I used the PB almost all the time. The 9700 never runs out of juice.
