Hey guys i'm thinking about getting a blackberry within the new week but i'm kinda when it comes to the data plan.

Here is what i'm looking at.

    Monthly Bundle Rate $20.00
    Email - unlimited
    Instant Messaging - unlimited
    Web Browsing - none
    Video Streaming - none
Text Messaging (sent and received) - unlimited

i want a blackberry for instant messaging (MSN) and text messaging / email.

Here is what i want to know.....if im on windows live messenger isn't that using data? and won't i get a crazy bill since i have 0 data with this plan? and same goes with me checking / sending emails?

    Thanks!

    Welcome to CrackBerry.

There are two components to Telus's package. The first and most important is BlackBerry Internet Service (BIS). This provides the connections for email, messaging and Internet use.

The second component is data. Telus bundles data into the package, unlimited email for your data package.

They have limited Internet Browsing and video streaming. If you need these services, they are available as an Add-on to the package.

I don't think i will ever surf the web or stream video's with my blackberry. I mostly want it for text messaging and instant messaging / email.

So would this be any good for me? oh...and would i be able to leave windows live messenger on all the time?

I think you will be satisfied with this plan.

The message client will be active all the time, that is normal.

I was comparing rates between Telus and Bell. I went with bell
they offer cheaper rates, and offer more for the dollar
Bell has a few different data plans for new bb customers
I recommend you visit a Bell store and compare rates

I would confirm with Telus to make sure that MSN is included on the email/im plan. In the past it only included BB messenger, but that may have changed with the new plans. Also note that you will be unable to use the facebook app without additional data.
