    Hi. I updated my Blackberry Desktop Software (for Windows XP) to the newest version ( and now my computer will not connect to it.

    When I connect via USB, I see the model (Curve 8520) and the correct PIN number. I enter the device password on the computer and then the "Connecting" wheel spins until I force quit the program but I cannot connect.

    Please help.

    I updated Blackberry Desktop software for Vista with no problems. Did you check your firewall? Sometimes the firewall won't recognize the updated program.

    Thanks for the idea. I think that if the firewall was an issue, then Desktop Manager wouldn't connect at all. Do you disagree?

    I agree. I am new to BB but I would go through all of the BB Desktop Software settings and see if something was changed by the update. If that doesn't work I'd back to the previous Desktop Software version and see if I was able to connect.
