Hi! Can someone please please help me with my BB pearl8100?.. I think it has a virus. It sends messages and makes calls on its on! my telecom provider informed me that the warranty already ended. appreciate the help! thanks so much!

Try the keyboard lock.. If you keep the phone in your pocket that could be the problem.

It would be extremely, and I mean extremely, unlikely your phone has a virus. It's more likely that you are accidentally hitting the keypad.

Try a battery pull. With the phone on, remove the battery for 30 seconds, then put it back in.

Just my thoughts - If it does this frequently, take it to your provider and let them see what it does. Have them try a different SIM card and see if it still does it.

* Back-up your files, then wipe your handheld. (Options --> Security Options --> General Settings --> Press Option Key --> Select "Wipe Handheld")

* If that doesn't work, try re-installing the OS. Download the OS from the BB website. Then completely wipe your OS with "JL_CMDR" After that use JC's Optimization Guide to ensure your taking advantage of as much memory on your device.

I think i got it wet one time.. but that was a long time ago.. and, i didn't actually dipped it in water.. LOL it was like i just got out of the shower, got a call. my hand was still wet when i was holding the phone..
