I Have bricked my phone twice. 1st time I blamed myself for downloading old apps. But this time I had no apps but the "thank you gifts" from Blackberry. I am frustrated because I reloaded the OS for the 2nd time I used Blackberry protect to do a restore, this time my BBM/Groups contacts came back but not my address book. I tried Blackberry Protect and all that did was restore 7 contacts. I wanted to do a restore from Desktop Manager but was afraid I would not get back my BBM Groups. 90% of the time the restore says "restoring BBM Groups" But nothing ever happens. I do have an address Book with 7 contacts that are from an "unknown" contact list, not associated with none of my emails. What is this "unknown" contact list???. Do you have a frustrating story??? Please Vent and share your issues and tell us what u think might be a fix
FYI I still have faith in my berry

When did my Curve NOT brick? It bricked charging more than once. It bricked in the middle of an email. I ditched it and got my Storm2 and only bricked it once deleting an app that froze my phone and gave me the white screen of death.

I always use a DM backup to restore my BB. I have to be reinvited to BBM groups, but it's a small price to pay.

Haven't yet bricked my 9800 in the 11 months I've had it now. Nor the Pearl 8100 I had for the 3 and a half years before the Torch. Both had seen plenty of OS updates and app installs without issues. Doesn't mean that some particular apps didn't have problems - they just never bricked the phone in the process.

Five active, seven retired, zero bricks. All running leaked OS's, and this does include my 9900.

Haven't bricked one since my Tour. I didn't brick that one, the Tour had a quirky OS on it. No problems with my 9650 or 9850 (Knocks on wood). Wifes 9670 is going strong also with no problems.
