Not just exclusive to my BlackBerry, but all my mobile devices have made my life easier. The first smartphone I got was a Sidekick. I fell in love with it one night when a friend took hers out to write down the name of a website I had given her. I rushed out and bought my own. I used it to take notes in grad school. At the end of the class I would email them to myself and save them to my computer (I had a desktop back then). One time during a break in class my professor had me look up a KU basketball score, lol.
When I was using a bb for my daily driver I was at a spa one day when a nasty storm bore down on us. I used BeWeather to track it. Then the power went out and that knocked out the spa's payment system. I used the camera flash on my bb as a flashlight so the spa staff could write down the payment info and then used it to find candles.
Now with the Amaze as my daily driver I'm even more productive. Widgets on my home screens give me immediate access to current weather/3 day forecast/map, to do list/sticky note, news headlines, tweets, upcoming calendar events for the next 6 weeks, and media controls. I can video call with my brother in Tucson. I wan watch Netflix during long cardio sessions. And of course I still enjoy the instant email/IM connectivity that has been pivotal in all my past devices. I dont think I could ever do without a smartphone ever again, and I was even pretty late to the game!
