I know Windows Live Search has turn by turn directions. Not sure if it is working properly on the 8900 though.

    Does anyone have any updates?
It's not out, unfortunately. Too bad. It was awesome.

I have been using AmAze, as I posted earlier and it works fairly well, I'm thinking about trying Telmap navigator if it works in the US - we don't have many roundabouts. I have Google, but want a voice service for driving directions.

I got the USA Telmap Nav installed and it worked great when i tested it on my lunch. Didn't go far but had to reroute and all went smooth. Some of the street names were not very clear, but i understood them just fine. As Phill_UK posted a couple post back, select the 9000 Bold as your device. (Thanks again!)

I tried amAze on my way to work but i did not really like it. For the price (free) it worked great to have turn by turn considering that i don't really need the GPS 95% of the time. But the map seamed to lag and the graphics seamed dull on the 8900's beautiful screen.

I have found Garmin works well with the 8900. I have installed AmAze and will give it a shot tomorrow. Just trying to find a less expensive option for gps.

I'm a big fan of Google Maps since my Pearl 8100 days. Now it has the new Latitude feature where you can see your friends on the map like the Loopt app for iphone.

I've never had a prob w/ the Goog...

Can the Garmin read maps in the memory card or does it use maps downloaded OTA only? Thanks!
