Ive got a Storm 9530 that im wanting to give to my brother on put him on a no contract carrier on the cheap. Im eyeing MetroPCS but its a CDMA carrier and i know the process to get it over 100% working to Metro is rather involved. I know the storm is a CDMA/GSM Worldphone so im wondering if i unlock the GSM capability of the phone if it would work on a GSM based no contract carrier?

my only problem is...I dont know of any GSM No Contract carriers in southern california lol. Does anyone know?

GSM capabilities only truly work in europe, middle east, and asia.... and even for that, you have to modify it to accept the service books... been there, done that...

T-Mobile has teir EM+ no contract plans. No subsides are available on these plans, so you bring you phone or buy outright & voila you have service.
