The Great Indestructible Curve!
Hi guys-
First post here, but been a reader of this site and BB loyalist for 5 years.
Had an incident happen today to my Curve that I thought that I had to share.
I loaded my daughter into her car seat and left to drive to the airport to show my family how to get to the RDU airport. We were about a mile and a half away from my house, driving around 50mph when I heard a noise, looked in my rear-view mirror and noticed my family who was driving behind me, pulling off to the side of the road. I did a u-turn, then another to pull behind my family because I thought they had a flat tire but noticed my mom had gotten out of the car and was walking backwards pretty quickly, so I pulled off the road to see what was up. I got out of the car, asked her what was happening, and she said "Your phone just flew off the roof of your car!" I dropped a few F-bombs and looked into the middle of the two lanes to see my phone sitting there face up. All I could do was look on in horror at the 4 cars coming directly at us at 50mp+. I remember the first car driving directly over it, then I turned away to not witness the destruction. The other cars went by and I ran out in traffic to pick it up and bring it to safety. Amazingly no car hit it, the screen was not even scratched and the only damage was some minor scratches on the bottom and the back of the phone. The phone was off, so I did a battery pull and waited an agonizing amount of time for the phone to reset. Shockingly, there was NO damage except for the scratches! I think I'm still in shock...both at my stupidity and the indestructible 8900 Curve.
I have been tempted by a few of the new Android OS phones coming to T-mobile, but not anymore. I know that this was a freak occurrence, but I believe it shows the craftsmanship of the Blackberry brand and will now be a user for life!
FTR- I would like to post the images, but obviously don't have enough posts to do so :(
