- Okay, I'm a bit lost. I canNOT figure out how to export the 16 mile log I just did on a bike.
I did not previously specify a folder or directory in which to store/export but have now added them
I still see the path on the screen as well as alt, speed, etc.
But I find no way to either copy/paste or email the full path.
When I attempted to send I only got current position and a line saying something like "all data in WGS84 format"
I don't see how to create the gpx or google file.
Any help appreciated02-16-09 07:10 PMLike 0 -
- go to the options dialog and specify the Export Format(s)
- from the main screen select 'Manage Paths (prev. recorded)'
- now you should see all your saved Paths
- now select the Path you would like to export and choose either: 'Export Path to Filesystem' or 'Export Path via Email' from the Menu. Please note, that the 'Export Path via Email' item is only visible, when you have specified a recipient in the options dialogue.
I hope this clarify the function.02-17-09 01:40 AMLike 0 - Ok I see various people having problems with the font size - it's always YOUR_DEFAULT_FONT_SIZE/1.5 - but I assume you will not like to change your default BB font size just to make GPSLogger readable for you - so expect another option for setting the font size in GPSLogger....
Matthias02-17-09 01:52 AMLike 0 - Thanks for the reply regarding "sending or saving" paths.
I guess the fact that I had not get the log folder/directory location before the bike ride means that I did not SAVE it anywhere? I still see the bike ride's path on the screen as well as its elevation/alt and speed. But I only see some OLDER file that's not mine?? Is that a sample?
And thanks for thinking about larger fonts.02-17-09 08:22 AMLike 0 - update 0.4.6 is available (minor):
What's new?
- You now can specify the GPSLogger font size. Select between:
- Small (= BB Default Font Size/1.5)
- Medium (= BB Default Font Size/1.25)
- Large (= BB Default Font Size)
- Auto line wrap of all status data (depending on font size & text that have to be displayed)

- Looks nice i downloaded the latest.
Will see if does the trick. Would be nice if this could help with caching.
Thnx02-17-09 09:44 AMLike 0 - Greetings,
I tried out the program today and it's impressive and useful. I noticed something however...it appears as though when my BB locks after 10 minutes GPSLogger shuts down. Will it not run in the background while the phone is locked? Or is this a limitation of the BB itself? I suppose I could turn off auto-locking, but my fear would be I'd forget to turn it back on. I always let it lock after a short time for security reasons. Thanks!02-17-09 11:18 PMLike 0 -
I am still new here too but I have learned, that there are some Providers, that block certain phone features (or made them available only for certain apps) - I have read, once you have started such an APP (that have GPS with Verizon) and then switch tasks, and then launch GPSLogger it might work.02-18-09 03:24 PMLike 0 - You only need to be in a service area if you want to EMAIL your current location or the entire path to someone (yourself). Otherwise, it tracks on the screen and then can store the track (path) to an sd card where you can download that manually to a computer if you don't want the email route.02-18-09 11:26 PMLike 0

weird cause at my house i can get it to work but when i am in the bush just out of cell range it wont work? not a tree problem as we removed them all it just says no data received yet and just sits there?02-19-09 05:21 AMLike 0 - I also downloaded your program yesterday. From your description it looks perfect for me. But, i seam not to be able to get it to work reliable. I did finally get it to work for about 2 sec late yesterday. Now, it seams, I've notice, many 3rd party programs have a hard time getting sat's. I have the same problem with Telmap Nav. I do get that one to work after a long while. My Blackberry Maps will get sat's with in 2-30sec's. I have 1 3rd party program that works just as good as BM, it's called BlackStar. You'll find it in the form under "Application that shows Lat/Long etc without maps" I would, if i were you.., take a look and see how they're retrieving sat's to see if you can improve your's. I'm hoping you can so i can see what this can do.02-19-09 06:39 AMLike 0
- actually the "course" information should do that (but for sure it's not a visual compass)
Might be, that you could be so kind and change the UpdateRate in the Options Dialogue to '1' to see, if this is changing anything...
Matthias02-19-09 04:02 PMLike 0 - Matthias,
Just wanted to thank you for this great piece of nifty FREE software.
Keep up the good work.

PS ... Is there any way the Latitude/Longitude/Altitude information can be broadcast on the main screen, with GPSLogger running in the background. Not a big deal, but just curious.02-19-09 07:06 PMLike 0 -
In any case there is now v0.4.8 - with a changed signal recovery strategy - might be that's doing the trick - I am looking forward to your feedback.Last edited by emacf1; 02-20-09 at 04:03 AM.

I have contacted one of the developers - I was hoping to learn something new - but unfortunately B* is using exactly the same code an API for receiving GPS-Data (then GPSLogger does)...

Matthias02-20-09 05:55 AMLike 0 - Hey, i did get to work on a continues bases this morning. but, i had to have another gps program running in the background (Telmap) to get it to work. Now, where's this UpdateRate located? In your program or in BB? I looked in yours last night and didn't see anything. I really would like it to work with out another program running in the background02-20-09 07:26 AMLike 0
