Ok, so i bought the blackberry 8120, with wifi, not the gps receiver only because i knew i could get a receiver for it, which i did. However i need a software that does not require an internet connection to run it, i do not have a data plan. Does anyone know of a product? Similar to Google maps, but must be able to run without the network. Thanks

You can create your own maps on a pc and place them on an SD card for using both trekbuddy and Mobile gmaps (NOT google). You do have to work at compiling the maps in advance and obviously are limited by how many/much mapping you want. Other programs can show your location or even track you including gpsed (data only needed to upload to their site.)

How do i create my own maps? This would be kinda cool for hikes i plan on taking. But what program do i need to make them. Also, i do a lot of intown driving, so im look for a program that i can look up addresses and use my gps without the network.
