Hi I am seeing this issue since i installed the 5.0.0.681 Optus OS on my bold 9000.

Whenever I open my Poynt, it just keeps 'searching' the GPS location but never finds the current location.

I have my GPS location service ON from the advanced options>GPS.

Any idea if this is a bug ? Or is there a way to workaround/fix this problem?

Uninstall and reinstall the app. Sounds like a piece of the code didnt dowload correctly. I had this same issue and did this and it worked. Good luck.

Might be a stupid question, but are you inside or outside when trying to get a connection?

vndlewis - Inside building with full bars on 3G network.

Tarheelfan40 -- Already did that last night. Reinstall doesn't help.

Another thought just occured to me are you running another GPS based application? Maybe they could be interferring with one another. If not I'm tapped out of thoughts...good luck.

Full bars doesn't mean you are getting a gps hit. I can have 1 bar and get full satellites. Try going outside and see if it picks up.

Okay - I gotta try getting outside and grab the signal and see if that works. I thought it worked off the cell site via 3G.

Tarheelfan40 - I just got google maps. no other GPS based app.
