I have recently started using a Curve 8900 given to me by someone at RIM. Im on Fido and I have no data plan and I do not want to use data.

That said, I have heard that the internal GPS on the Curve 8900 should still be able to find my location when i go to "Options/ Advanced Options/ GPS/ Refresh GPS"

However, when i do that, it scans for satellites for a few minutes, then says "GPS Location Update Failed" and returns all 0s for latitude/longitude, etc.

I've tried doing this in many different locations (inside, outside, in the middle of a big field in Toronto, etc) but it still never finds anything.

Does anyone know what i may be doing wrong here?

    Thanks in advance.

You definitely need to be outside when you try to get your location with no obstructions. How long did you wait? It can take up to 10 minutes to get a signal. Also, be sure to try with both location aiding on and off. Good Luck.
