does all GPS progs need GPRS ?
GPRS is a type of cellular/data connection. Strictly GPS only apps should operate independently from the data connection. However, programs like Google Maps require a data connection to download live mapping data. A program that just give you lat/long, speed, heading and altitude shouldn't rely on any kind of data connection to work.
