I had a Blackberry Storm, I hated it, lost my mind and bought a WM phone. Nevertheless, I have Blackberry Curve in the mail as we speak. I remember reading somewhere that Verizon unlocked the GPS on the device? Is that true and do all applications have access to it now?

You can get the, "My Location" within 1000 meters on average..but thats not good enough.

The only way to get full out, gps, follow you while you drive or whatever, is by paying $10 a month for VZNavigator.

    Thats it

the 1000 meters thing has nothing to do with gps.. its only triangulation from cell towers using radio waves.

I think that it is now only unlocked for Backberry Maps. Verizon needs to stop destroying these poor devices.

GPS now unlock for Verizon BlackBerry 8130 and 8330 (BlackBerry Bytes) | BlackBerry Cool

If you have 4.5 installed you can use the internal GPS in BB Maps. It may not have all the features of Google Maps but it works.

Fixes that work on Alltel don't seem to work on Verizon. I've tried every single one I've been able to find.

I think you have to pay the 10 dollars for it. Seems like a rip to me.
