hi guys,

i am new here, found this website and thought should join it as i am getting my BB 8110 from rogers, now one main question i had was that

do i need a data plan from Rogers to use the GPS, and is there a way of using GPS without a dataplan, as i do not currently have a data plan

The GPS will work without a data plan, but you will need a data plan to down load maps. There are GPS apps that will report lat / lon without maps. One is described in this forum. There is also TrekBuddy, which will work with maps stored on a Media Card. You will still have to get the maps on the card, but you can use TrekBuddy in areas where you don't have cell service.

so in other words, i can TrekBuddy outside of canada only, as i will have service every where in canada and thanks fot the reply

i guess, now i will have to see if i can get a data plan which is reasonable if i want to use the GPS

thanks again, also what about nav4all, will that also require data download?

Yes, nav4all will also require a data plan for downloading maps.
