TrekBuddy is one GPS app that allows you to download maps to a media card. It's intended for use in areas where you don't have a cell signal.

There is a Garmin app for BlackBerries, but it requires a data plan to download its maps. It does not store maps on the media card, or come with any preloaded maps. It's $10/month, or $99 for the life of your BlackBerry, non-transferable.

MOD NOTE: I'm moving your thread to the GPS and Mapping Forum, where it's a better fit.

Without a data plan, how do you have access to the Internet?

    So..

looks like a lot of people working on TB.. wow.. just awesome..

I can follow everything as posted but .. the map creation..

    Seems really dense and complicated.

    (and time consuming)

I have Garmin software (maps) and am wondering if it is possible to use it with TB.

    EDIT

Apparently it is possible. .. nice

You use Goolgeak to make the atlas/maps collection, it's pretty much all point and click you tell it what zoom and what area and off you go.
