I have a question regarding GPS availability and Im not sure if I had this issue before upgrading to .113

I live in the Houston (TX) area and GPS works fine with Google Maps, Where, Trapster, etc. I just returned from San Diego where any software I attempted to use "could not locate GPS". This happened over a 3 day period and every day the same thing. Once I landed in Houston all was well again. Any explanation for the possible problem?

On a side note does turning the GPS on use up battery if you are not using the software to access it? Is it better to change GPS to 911 only when not using?

    Thanks in advance

I don't believe the GPS is active unless a program is using it otherwise why would it have to look for the sats when you start a mapping program it would already have a lock on them.

You must not have given the phone enough time to get a sat lock in San Diego, I have had similar problems when traveling to the left coast and it took about 5 minutes to get a fix.
