Please help me with few questions!

    1) Default Memory they say is 64 MB came as default!
-- Is this something we need to upgrade?
    or Not?

    2) Media Card - Nothing to start (I guess)
-- What is the Max capacity we can buy?
-- What is the best product?
    -- Best Place to buy?

    3) Card Reader -- Is that something we need?

What is the USB port and the card they gave to connect to the computer?

Can we just use that or not?

4 GB for $15.00 is the best offer I found - Not sure if that is to upgrade my 64 MB or is that the Media card?
-- How much does this card reader cost? (if I have to buy?)

If I have a digital camera card reader - Are they same?

    Thanks

Honestly, you can find all your answers using the search function a lot faster. Did you try it?

Try searching this site for "Media Card Capacity." There are several very good posts on that.

As for memory card deals, geeks.com had an 8GB card today for around $19.99 or so. 16GB cards are around $45-50. The conventional wisdom is to get the largest capacity you can afford. Tiger-direct is also a great site to search for deals on memory cards.

    1) You cannot alter the internal device memory.

    2) The following table lists BlackBerry Device Software versions and the supported media card size.

BlackBerry Device Software Media Card Size Limit
BlackBerry Device Software 4.2.0 Up to 2 GB
BlackBerry Device Software 4.2.1 Up to 4 GB
BlackBerry Device Software 4.2.2 Up to 4 GB
BlackBerry Device Software 4.2.2.196 Up to 8 GB per Verizon Release Notes and confirmed by users.
BlackBerry Device Software 4.3.0 Up to 8 GB
BlackBerry Device Software 4.5.0 Up to 8 GB
BlackBerry Device Software 4.5.0.81 and later Up to 16 GB
BlackBerry Device Software 4.6.0 and later Up to 32 GB

2a) Sandisk, PNY, Kingston and Crucial are all good brands. I recommend SanDisk.

    3) Not necessary but good to have on hand. A lot of cards are sold with
    one included in the packaging.

Welcome to CrackBerry, appreciate your comment about finding us at the top of the Google list.

Your Curve has 64 Mb of internal memory. The software, including the Sun Java programs are your Operating system. That is separate from the expansion media card.

Most new users can view preinstalled sample images, video clip and a music tune. If they are installed, you can remove them and gain back a substantial amount of memory.

If your software is out of date, upgrades are easy to accomplish.

Memory management is a concern, but we have made a science out of getting the most of BlackBerry.

Stock, welcome. I once found this place by using Google as well and haven't been able to leave since. The likes of Reed and Graceless have kept me coming back in hopes that I will someday be able to help as many people as they have.

Looks like you've got all your answers, but I might throw in a suggestion: Take a read through the "Newbie" section and look for the Blackberry 101 Lecture Series. There is ton of information in there and it will get you well on your way to being an expert.
