Let's say I'm an author and I wrote my book on Google Docs and it is being stored in Google drive. So according to you, Google now has the rights to my book. amirite?
Well they may not gain copyright access since they do state you retain ownership. But what are they gonna do with it while it's on the servers. What are you writing about? does it go against goggles status-quo? What if Google perceives this book as "the bad guy"? What if it's a book about how much you hate Obama/Harper and all the terrible things they have done and Google doesn't like this so they use your own words against you..

They have admitted to giving away documents before, like recently the case of Google going to police about a guy who had child porn in his inbox.. while I am not saying that there should have been child porn in there, that's disgusting. But its the point Google is scanning and looking at everything you do..

Or how about back after Boston bombing, innocent people's houses getting rioted by cops just because the husband was looking to buy a new back pack and the wife wanted to buy a new crock pot and authorities were notified that those two things were searched in Google.

    Actually that's a legal requirement

Any service that suspects or sees criminal activity must report it to the police
This includes teachers childcare workers and people in general and service providers

    It's a criminal charge if they don't
    Obstruction of. Justice
The tos idemifies them but legally if the first case happened then yes they are legally responcible to report it or be accessory
If you are that affraid of Google you just have to look at your phone
Nsa has 3 super computers that watch's every call made in the us
The fbi has a computer in Every us isp That upon request can pull emails from an account
It is called carnivore mandated by law since the 90s

I can only say don't use a service if you don't feel comfortable with it. Anything you input that are uploaded in the internet is bound to be in some server whether you like or not.

Contrast the terminology used by Google with Microsoft's SkyDrive TOS for example:

Except for material that we license to you, we don't claim ownership of the content you provide on the service. Your content remains your content. We also don't control, verify, or endorse the content that you and others make available on the service.
You understand that Microsoft may need, and you hereby grant Microsoft the right, to use, modify, adapt, reproduce, distribute, and display content posted on the service solely to the extent necessary to provide the service.

Microsoft only gives itself the right to use your content to provide the service, otherwise it is all yours and they have no claim to ownership. This is the terminology Google should be using and should adopt as soon as possible.

I call upon our Lord and Savior, Blaze, in light of this very fervent discussion, to write an article about BlackBerry Privacy Terms of Agreement and/or Crackberry's. May we learn the ways of the lawyer through an authoritative voice, for in the mouth of babes, no one learned anything. But in the mouth of angels may the truth be known.

    I've seen many people posting request after request for Google Services on their BlackBerry phones. I don't really know what they really want or which Google Services they want. To me I think the only Google services available that are useful are;

    - g mail
    - google maps
    - google translate
    - google location service or they predict what you want to do next.

I think that the first 3 are all that is important other than that I don't see what is so useful about Google services. I only see a breach of privacy & it is really dangerous. In any case I believe there are so many services that can replace the first 3 services above.

As for the rest, I think it is best not to be used. I was traveling with a buddy recently & our car broke down so we sent it to a workshop & we took the ferry to our island destination. In any case we could not drive our car over anyway.

When we came back to the mainland, my buddy's Android phone said 15 minutes to the workshop. When we collected our car, it just automatically said 5 hours home.

How in the world does Google know that we had to collect our car? Then upon collecting our car how in the world does Google know that we need to go home?

Is Google tracking our every movement?

Is Google controlling our lives? Is Google manipulating our lives?

    I don't feel safe anymore...

Different words to Google but ultimately the same thing.

The standard of care is with any company that receives any of your personal information. If you feel that a company is apt to misuse your personal information, then it would be in your best interests to seek alternatives.
With that having been said, no IT company would want their brand associated with being reckless with your personal information as it would diminish the value of their brand IMO.
