Hi. I now have the Curve 8530, which does have an unlocked GPS, but i can't seem to get it to work with google maps. My Carrier is Verizon. I can use the GPS with Blackstar, GPSed, Nav4all ( Which is now defunct anyway ), and other 3rd-Party GPS apps. I've tried reinstalling it, giving it all permissions, but i was just wondering if anyone else is having this problem. thanks.

I also have the 8530 with Verizon and can not get Google Maps to give me a sat lock. I've stood outside in an open field and it still wont find me with GPS location "on". I even tried "e911" only to see if I could even get it to try cell triangulating it, but it still says I am standing in a different country 2,700 miles away.

i have an 8530 and it doesn't seem like GPS works, google maps gives me the same "here is your locations within XX meters" like it did with my 8320

Jackmiles2006 ... i just downloaded blackstar and i can't get it to find one satellite anywhere ... i live in AZ ... clear blue skies and still nothin

Google Maps uses cell towers to get your position. it's highly inaccurate. BBMaps is definitely the way to go for now. Make sure you're set to Location On.
